Pranayoga

What is Pranayoga or Breathing Yoga?
( Prana means (in Sanskrit) life force energy i.e. our Breath.  Yoga means union.
So Pranayoga is a process to become union with your Body, Mind and Spirit)
Pranayoga (breathing yoga) is a combination of simple Body Movements, Finger Yoga, Meditation and Breathing processes to increase the Oxygen flow in the body.
Even by practising a few rounds of alternate nostril breathing, you can help restore imbalances in your brain – improve sleep – calm your emotional state – boost your thinking – calm your nervous system.
There are different breathing techniques which will be taught from the beginner’s level to advanced level.
Pranayoga is:

  • an exercise which keeps you physically healthy and mentally happy
  • a simple but effective process to release pain and stiffness in the body
  • a process which can be done by anyone anywhere. ( while you work, relax or even when you travel )
  • a tool using full, conscious connected breathing
  • a technique that can provide resolution and clearing of issues, patterns and beliefs on a cellular level
  • spontaneous and organic
  • a sacred, soulful experience
Breath is the link between mind and body. If you can make a change in the breath it can change your state of mind and body. Each breath we take in nourishes our system and each breath we give out cleanses the system.
The Breath is one of the most powerful transformative tool to access our essence and potential. Pranayoga uses the breath (full, conscious connected breathing) to clear unresolved issues, limiting beliefs and past events in our lives that are standing in the way of us reaching our potential, allowing our dreams to be fulfilled and feeling alive, happy and inspired. It is a client focused, self generated process.

How does this benefit ?
Normally we don’t use the lung to the optimum level. So the oxygen level in the body will become less. Oxygen depletion makes the energy level down, so we feel tired and weak. If we are able to supply enough oxygen to our system then cells get more energised and we become more and more healthy.
In the class you will learn how to use your breath to get maximum benefit out of each breath.
People can either sit on a comfortable chair or lay down in the floor with a mat.
